Like Fishing? Then You’ll Love Fishing in Trinidad
Trinidad is a seaside village in Humboldt County, located on the Pacific Ocean, eight miles north of the Arcata-Eureka Airport (ACV) and 15 miles north of the college town of Arcata. The Trinidad area is one of the most breathtaking, and beautiful segments of California’s North Coast.
The town of Trinidad has been established as a California Coastal National Monument Getaway-offering the best shore-based opportunities to experience and view pristine natural beauty in all its splendor.
Understandably, fishing Trinidad is very popular as many species of sport fish call its waters home: Salmon, Ling Cod, Surf Fish, Dungeness Crab, and Rockfish, to name a few.
The secret to happiness? Fishing on the Trinity River
Camping and fishing near the Trinity River in Northern California is unforgettable. Furthermore, the Trinity River is also rated one of the eight best fly-fishing rivers in the United States for Salmon, Steelhead and German Browns.
Steelhead season runs year round with peak season starting in September, and runs thru January. Simultaneously, enjoy catching German Browns and Stripers. These fish respond well to drifting bait, swinging flies, plugs & spinners, and roe.
Salmon have two consistent runs in the spring and the fall. Traditional bait, and back-trolling plugs works best.
Klamath & Smith Rivers Fishing
Catch Salmon, Steelhead and Rainbow Trout. The fall season, which started on August 15, runs thru December 31.
In short, enjoy world-renowned-fishing, whitewater boating, unmatched beauty, solitude, and the unrelenting flow of fun-filled memories in the making.
